Tokyo government deployed robots for COVID-19 patients

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike speaks during her regular press conference at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building on May 1, 2020, Tokyo, Japan. Koike announced using robots (Pepper and Whiz) to attend mildly sick patients of COVID-19 located in hotels secured by Tokyo’s government, to reduce the risks for human staff. The robots, made by SoftBank Robotics, will check patients’ conditions such as temperature, clean their rooms, and other daily necessities in the hotels rented by the local government.
