Japanese Daruma dolls are seen at Takahata Fudoson Temple in Hino City on January 28, 2022, in Tokyo, Japan. About 150 sellers gather to sell Daruma dolls without pupils painted on their eyes for people seeking good luck during the year. People color in one pupil when a wish is made or a goal set, and when their wish comes true or the goal is achieved they fill in the other pupil. At the end of the year, used Daruma dolls are returned to the temple to be burned.
