A partial lunar eclipse is seen from Tokyo on November 19, 2021, in Japan. The partial lunar eclipse appears when Earth’s shadow covers only parts of the Moon. The natural phenomenon was visible all over Japan.
Shortly after 6 pm local time, about 98 percent of the Moon’s diameter was covered, local media reported. The lunar eclipse ended shortly before 8 pm. The near-total lunar eclipse coinciding with the full moon was the longest event of its kind for nearly 600 years, with skywatchers in the Americas and East Asia getting a particularly good view.
