The number of deaths related to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) registered a new record of 19 in a single day, while 477 new people tested positive increasing the confirmed infection cases over 8,000 in Japan.
State of emergency
Japan has reached a total of 8,161 cases in the country, after new cases in Tokyo, 161 people have been tested positive with the virus, bringing cumulative cases to 2,319; followed by the prefectures of Osaka with 59 and Fukuoka with 33 new cases. All three prefectures declared under the state of emergency last week.
Including the 19 deaths, Japan has registered a total of 173, including passengers who were aboard in the cruise ship Diamond Princess and several cases in Tokyo, Ishikawa, Hokkaido, Gunma, Saitama and Fukuoka, Chiba, Fukui and Osaka prefectures.
