Tokyo Prepares for 300 Year Eclipse

Tokyo electronics stores sell telescopes and special glasses as the country gets ready to witness a partial solar eclipse on Monday, May 21. The path of Monday’s eclipse runs almost directly over Tokyo and it is said to be a once in 300 year chance to see the phenomenon from the Japanese capital. News programs are running features about how to view the sun safely and convenience and electronics stores are selling viewing goods. According to NASA peak viewing time should start around 06:32am on Monday in Tokyo and lasts just five minutes.
